Week 2 – The Flight of the Flamingos Festival

February 15-16

Two extraordinary days for Coastwise Marine Festival over the weekend, where participants saw a slightly different side of an intertidal area. They saw what a mangrove ecosystem looks like and the animals it hosts with Sheetal Chadhari Pachpande and Harshal Karve.

They got closer to the landscape through an art workshop by Gaurav Patil and ended the day with a magnificent boat ride where they saw quite literally – the flight of the flamingos.

The event was held at the Coastal Marine & Biodiversity Centre, Airoli. Event organised by Mangrove Foundation, Marine Life of Mumbai and WWF India.
